cybertrixx | Year 5, Term 1, Week 3: Great success!

So, we're well into the new term now and we're up to our eyeballs in wonderful players, both old and new. 36 of them, in fact. Fuck yes!

Normally we set up the introductory new-player mission as something fairly gentle, easing people into the idea of hitting their friends with rubber swords while shouting seemingly random words that roughly translate to 'fall over and pretend to die'. This year, we ended up with SO MANY new players that we ran a second 'newbie mission' (alongside a couple of existing characters) this week.

So hardcore are they, that the so-called 'newbie mission' that happened this evening (totally evening, it was pitch black when we started, totally evening...) ended up as some kind of glorious hellish baptism of fire with the players fighting their way through undead infested haunted woods surrounded by a monster crew that would have taken a top-end party from the first or second year to pieces in seconds. They didn't so much hit the ground running as start off at a sizeable fraction of the speed of light and then accelerate from there. Holy hell!

Very, very happy with the turnout. We're in a lovely place right now, and I'm confident that the final year of Shattered Legacies will turn out as awesome as we were hoping it would. Ultimately, it's all up to the players - and I couldn't ask for a more wonderful bunch to share the journey with. What a long, strange road it's been...and it's definitely not over yet!
