The world has a habit of tearing the rug out from under your feet just when you least expect it, and this weekend certainly fulfilled what I would consider the criteria for sudden carpet displacement.

I still can't really get my head round it. I'm not even at the 'reeling at the implications' stage yet. There's nothing but cold, crushing inevitability ahead.
